I'm Ezzard the Lizard - I live in the lake, whatever is moving - my dinner I'll
make. I'm sick to my gizzard - when I hear them say, you're not a lizard, what
makes them that way. I'm one handsome fellow, I know this is true, with eyes
golden yellow, but I'm feelin' blue. Oh, why do they tease me and make me
see red while I'm turnin' green, down on the lake bed. What is the matter, I'm
so confused. They natter, they chatter, I feel quite abused. So I looked for my
mother, and find her I did. She answered my questions - you're an alligator,
kid. Mater, oh Mater, was Pater a Gator? Oh yes --- and a hunk he was too.
But he loved the ladies, and back in the 80s, he eloped with a Gator name
Lou. Now I'm fierce and I'm large and much sooner than later, they know
who's in charge - it's Ezzard the Gator!
Oh his name was Tad till he got big and bad. Now he's called Theodore - he's a tad no more. He's green and lean and really quite mean, there on the scene - a bug eating machine. At home by the bog, Theo ate like a hog, which he shouldn't have done - but it's really such fun - to eat lizards and flies and snakes of small size. Minnow and slugs were a quick chug-a-lug. Oh, he lives near a bog by a pond 'neath a log - he's Theodore, the Louisiana Frog. Then one day on a lily pad he lay. He was feelin' very bad lyin' on that lily pad. For variety, he had gulped a honey bee, which stung going down , my how he jumped around! It really was no joke, it almost made him croak. Now back on his feet, he watches what he eats. Oh, he lives near a bog by a pond 'neath a log, he's Theodore, the Louisiana Frog. He's Theodore, the Louisiana Frog. |
