Louisiana Pollywogs - Pontchy Pelican
Louisiana Songs for Kids!

Pontchy Pelican
Performed by Angela Mannino

My name is Pontchy Pelican, I'm a most amazing bird, but some folks say my big old bill is a little bit absurd. I'm always making groceries, as I dive down from the sky. Then splashing down, I scoop up a fish in the blink of an eye. My name is Pontchy Pelican, have you heard the latest word? In Louisiana , I am the coolest bird.

Now pelicans aren't choosy - we'll travel far and near. Over Catahoula Lake, or right here on the pier. And when you've cleaning up your catch, my eyes are on your fish, because they say 9/10s of the law will make that my own dish. After six or seven fish, I like to swim and float. My webbed feet power me around like a little feathered boat. Sun-shiny days or stormy nights - I love the southern weather, because I am a special bird - of Louisiana Feather. My name is Pontchy Pelican - have you heard the latest word. In Louisiana - I am the coolest bird.

Did you know that I'm the spokesbird, for Louisiana State, so come on in, the waters fine, and the fishin' here is great. In the air I'm graceful, and you'll never see me crash, but when I spot a lunch-time fish, you're going to see me splash.

My name is Pontchy Pelican - I'm a most amazing bird, but some folks say my big old bill is a little bit absurd. My name is Pontchy Pelican, have you heard the latest word? In Louisiana - I am the coolest bird!
