Clickety Clackety Crab
Performed by Rusty Fox

There is a crab in Lake Pontchartrain who can do more than pinch and grab. His claws go click and his claws go clack - he's Clickety Clackety Crab. When danger lurks around, his friends don't have to guess. He clicks and clacks a little song - sending out an S O S.

When Clickety Clackety was growing up, he had to shed his shell. Although he was a softie - it was kind of hard to tell. With soft crab claws there's just no way to clickety clickety clack. The hardness of his shell is exactly what he lacks. After a while some time had passed and Clickety Clackety got - the hardness back into his shell - hey when you're hot, you're hot!

So Clickety Clackety wanted - to try out his new shell for size. So he clicked and clacked a little while, as a warm-up exercise. With a little bit of practice and ready to start the show, Clickety Clackety took a bow and danced his new solo!

(Clickety Clackety Crab Solo!)

There is a crab in Lake Pontchartrain who can do more than pinch and grab. His claws go click and his claws go clack - he's Clickety Clackety Crab.

Upon his toes he can tipety tap while he clickety clacks his claws. And from his mouth come bub-a-lee sounds as he opens and closes his jaws. Then one day, he ran out of luck, when he stepped into a net (uh-oh!). But Clickety Clackety was just not ready to become a snack just yet!

Three seconds later he found himself sitting atop the pier. A fisherman was looking down, as he stroked his old gray beard. Clickety Clackety was petrified - and he was not in the mood - to hang around old Captain Hook and become tonight's seafood. About to sack the crab, the fisherman just froze when Clickety Clackety started to dance, clickin' on his tipety toes. Clickety Clackety tipped and tapped as he clicked and clacked his claws. The ancient angler was so amazed and he dropped his fuzzy jaw.

Clickety Clackety put on a show - and then he took a bow - clicked and clacked his way to the edge and said, "how do ya like me now?" Over the edge and three feet down, he splashed into the lake. Sometimes you just gotta dance - or do whatever it takes!

The man on the pier was boiling mad, but that's the way it goes - for Clickety Clackety got away - on his tipety tapety toes. Back home with his brackish Friends - Clickety Clackety was - clickin' and clackin' his favorite tunes - 'cause that is what he does. There is a crab in Lake Pontchartrain who can do more than pinch and grab. His claws go click and his claws go clack - he's Clickety Clackety Crab. He's Clickety Clackety Crab!
