Louisiana Pollywogs - The Riverboat Song
Louisiana Songs for Kids!

The Riverboat Song
Performed by Angela Mannino

Polly is a paddleboat - she's churnin' up the water. The one you paddle with your feet, just might be her daughter. You know you'll have a great time on the Mississippi River, and while you're there you might say hi to Polly's trusty skipper. There's Christopher the Cruise Ship - but you can call him Chris, goin' on a 3-day trip that you won't wanna miss. So bring your luggage right away before it gets too late. On board you're with the captain - along with his first mate. Another river boat - on the Mighty Mississip, in Louisiana on another river trip! (Hey look. There's a paddleboat! Oh, cool!)

Brenda da Barge - means not to be rude. When she barges in - it's not her attitude. She's transporting freight - from here to over there, and where she has to go - she really doesn't care. Tommy is a Tug Boat and he's got a lot of muscle. When a barge has broken loose - he's really gotta hustle! He'll push it right on back - right to where it once belonged, and he's got a lot of pull - 'cause diesel makes him strong! Another river boat - on the Mighty Mississip, in Louisiana on another river trip! (Look, there's a freighter! And look, a tug boat! Awesome!)

Philip Freighter carries cargo clear across the ocean, while trains on land can do the same with powered locomotion. The cargo Philip carries - can be one hundred cars, ten tons of fresh peanuts or - a million jelly jars. To cross the Mississippi River to the other side, Fran the friendly Ferry Boat will take you for a ride. People, cars and trucks can go - and you can take your dog. It sure beats floatin' over on a fallen' cypress log! Another river boat - on the Mighty Mississip, in Louisiana on - another river trip! And another river boat - on the Mighty Mississip, in Louisiana on another river trip!
